What We Offer

Sonshine Ministry is a ministry at FFC with multiple rays, which reach out to various groups, each ray having a distinct purpose; all through grace and hope.

Buddy Ray

Children from Pre-K through 6th grade with disabilities who benefit from additional support can be paired with a trained 1:1 buddy during children's church. Buddies provide individualized support and can assist children in participating in their age-appropriate class.

For children with higher support needs, we offer a specialized class in our sensory room. This space provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can move, explore, and play freely in a way that best meets their individual needs.

Sonshine Sunday Class

This is an integrative Bible class for individuals in 7th grade through adulthood with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Participants begin by joining the congregation for a time of worship. Each class includes opportunities for prayer and praise, crafts, games, and other hands-on activities designed to encourage participation, learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth.

Respite Ray

A bi-monthly outreach event for families who have children that have intellectual and developmental disabilities (0 - 16years) and their siblings.

There is a rotation of games, crafts, music, and we end the day with a dance party or movie!

Each child is taken care of by a buddy. Parents/caregivers have time to "rest", knowing their children are loved and supported.
